Savvy: award-winning Australian performance nutritional products

Savvy Beverage in Byron Shire Echo Newspaper

I am genuinely humbled by this recent feature. Seeing our journey from bootstrapping in Byron Bay to being recognised by Telstra, documented so clearly is a moment of deep reflection for me. My sincere hope is that by sharing my path from the burnout of the NSW Supreme Court to founding Savvy, it inspires others to prioritise their mental wellbeing before hitting a breaking point.

When I started Savvy, the goal wasn't just to sell a beverage; it was to pioneer a fundamental shift in how Australians approach mental health. We often wait until we are "broken" to seek help. By leveraging nootropics and adaptogens, we are providing a toolkit for mental fitness, helping the brain build resilience to stress and function at its absolute peak every day.

Why Science Matters

We’ve worked tirelessly with Australian health professionals to ensure our formulas are grounded in real science. We don't cut corners:

  • Purity: Using real ingredients instead of artificial ones like so many others.

  • Potency: Formulating products with up to 25 times more active ingredients than standard brands.

  • Integrity: Remaining 100% founder-led to maintain total quality control.

Beyond the bottle, I am proud that Savvy continues to support the Black Dog Institute and Beyond Blue. For me, business must be a force for good. We are on a mission to make everyday mental wellness accessible to all Australians, ensuring that peak performance never has to come at the cost of your health. Thank you for being part of this movement toward a more resilient, focused nation.

Here's the article below:

Mark Curry is the founder and nutritionist behind Savvy, the award-winning Australian brand pioneering performance nutrition.

A functional nutritionist and former lawyer of the Supreme Court of NSW, Mark is passionate about helping people feel better, think clearer, and perform at their best through smarter, science-backed nutrition.

At Savvy, he leads a team of scientists and health professionals to create functional foods and beverages using nootropics and adaptogens to boost focus, balance energy, and build resilience to stress.

His expertise extends beyond his brand: he is an Honorary Fellow at UTS, a Startups Mentor, Vice Chair of an Australian mental health charity, and a University Medallist recognised for excellence across law, business, and health.

Before founding Savvy, Mark practised law for three years until burnout forced him to reassess. Determined to understand the mind-body connection, he retrained in nutrition despite carrying significant student debt. With no investors or safety net, he bootstrapped Savvy from the ground up, driven to make everyday mental wellness accessible.

Mark has kept complete control over quality, formulating award-winning products with over 25 times higher active ingredients than many brands. He is obsessed with making things as healthy and effective as possible, spending months experimenting with natural ingredients. His Savvy Cola, for example, achieves its rich brown colour naturally using black tea instead of artificial dyes. Every Savvy product is created in collaboration with Australian health professionals, naturopaths, and food scientists.

The brand was first proven in high-performance workplaces like law firms and tech companies, not supermarkets. From those early Byron Bay beginnings, Savvy has grown into one of Australia’s fastest-rising wellness brands, stocked in over 1,000 retailers and recognised as the NSW winner in the Telstra Best of Business Awards.

Mark continues to use business as a force for good, supporting charities like Beyond Blue and the Black Dog Institute, advocating for mental fitness.
